The Universe Is Bendable
Inspired by Claire Vo episode
Claire Vo's mantra: the universe is bendable to your will. Organizations aren't fixed structures - they're fluid and can reshape around talented people. Teaching kids they have agency to reshape their world, not just accept it.
Claire Vo says the universe is bendable to your will. Not in a manifestation journal way. In a "corporate structures are made up and you can propose different ones" way.
Your kid learns the opposite. Bedtime is 8pm because that's bedtime. The world is non-negotiable facts from authorities who never explain themselves.
Then they turn 30 and can't advocate because they spent decades accepting "that's just how it is."
When they complain, ask what they'd propose instead. Bedtime too early? What time works? Chores boring? Redesign the system. They'll suggest garbage like "no bedtime ever" and "the dog does my laundry," but that's the point. They're learning to reshape things instead of endure them.
Not every proposal gets approved. Most won't. But kids who practice bending the universe don't grow up waiting for permission. They create jobs that didn't exist and are insufferable at HOA meetings.
You're raising a problem-solver or someone who accepts problems.
