Celebrate the Sticky Note Wins
Inspired by Christina Wodtke episode
Christina Wodtke says the most underrated part of OKRs is celebration. Funny, same thing makes toddler routines actually stick.
Christina Wodtke says people don't celebrate enough. Teams crush their OKRs, then immediately sprint to the next quarter like nothing happened. No pause. No acknowledgment. Just straight to the suffering.
You know what that looks like at home? Your toddler puts on their shoes. By themselves. Both feet. Correct shoes. You have witnessed a goddamn miracle and if you just say "okay let's go" you have failed to understand that this child has been putting shoes on the wrong feet for six months and today they NAILED IT.
Wodtke's big move is asking teams "What was the most awesome thing that happened this week?" With your kid it's even simpler. You lose your mind. "YOU DID IT! BOTH SHOES! I SAW THAT!"
Here's what happens: they start looking for their own wins. Suddenly you've got a three-year-old genuinely proud they ate a carrot. Not because you bribed them. Because they remember what it feels like when someone notices.
Wodtke uses OKRs. You're using sticker charts for bedtime cooperation. Different tools, same psychology.
