What's Most Impactful?

Inspired by Bret Taylor episode

Bret Taylor's framework: at every moment, ask what's the most impactful thing right now? For parents, it's usually connection.

You ask yourself: what's the most impactful thing right now? The rational brain says emails. The guilt brain says laundry. The work brain says that urgent thing.

Will this solve the sock crisis? Absolutely not. They'll still hate that sock tomorrow. But you just chose connection over productivity theater, and frankly that's the kind of poor prioritization that builds a relationship.
