Get Your Co-Founders Aligned First

Inspired by Kayvon Beykpour episode

Kayvon says you can't change culture without leadership alignment. When you and your partner enforce different rules, your kid just plays you against each other.

You banned screen time. Your partner caved after forty-five seconds. Your kid's watching Bluey while you fold laundry upstairs.

You said no cookies before dinner. Grandma said "just one won't hurt." Now you're the villain, she's the hero, and your kid learned regulatory arbitrage.

Kayvon's insight from Twitter: "You can't change culture without alignment from the top."

Your household is the same. One parent enforcing bedtime, the other granting "five more minutes." One requiring vegetables, the other sneaking goldfish.

The kid isn't confused. They're optimizing for a dysfunctional org where half the leadership greenlight what the other half rejected. Get alignment from the top first. Otherwise you're one person with a vision while everyone else runs a shadow roadmap where cookies are vegetables and bedtime is a distributed consensus protocol.
