Follow What Energizes You

Inspired by Gergely Orosz episode

Sustainable parenting comes from following what energizes you, not forcing yourself into someone else's Instagram-worthy best practice.

Gergely Orosz says follow what energizes you, not what drains you. Stop optimizing the wrong metrics.

Your toddler wants dinosaurs for breakfast. Again. You're tired. You want them to eat literally anything with nutritional value. But dinosaur nuggets? They're vibrating with excitement. They'll eat six of them without a single negotiation. Meanwhile, the organic quinoa bowl you spent twenty minutes preparing sits there like a tiny monument to your wasted life force.

You can strategy your way through dinner. Explain food groups. Negotiate vegetables. Turn mealtime into a forty-five-minute hostage situation where everyone loses.

Or you can accept that some nights, dinosaurs win because you can actually sustain it. They eat. You don't cry. Everyone survives.

Energy isn't weakness. It's data. Follow what doesn't destroy you, not what the parenting books say you should optimize.
