With parenting, you can absolutely hit 95%. You fed them. Nobody's bleeding. The day technically happened. But that last 5%? That's reading the third book when your soul has left your body. That's explaining why we don't lick the dog ONE MORE TIME with the patience of a hostage negotiator. That's following through on the consequence you threatened even though it now punishes you more than them.

Kids are like A/B tests that never end. They are CONSTANTLY checking if you mean what you say or if you're just generating noise. The last 5% is where they learn whether your words are data or decorative. And once they know you're bluffing? You're done. You're managing a product team that stopped reading your Slack messages.
