Manage Energy, Not Just Time
Inspired by Ami Vora episode
Ami Vora's approach to productivity isn't about time blocking—it's about energy management. Same goes for toddler meltdowns.
Ami Vora talks about the difference between local optimums and global optimums, which sounds very smart until you realize she's basically saying "stop doing things when you're already dead inside."
Product managers spend entire Fridays color-coding their calendars, but she's out here tracking when her brain actually works. Revolutionary? No. Correct? Unfortunately yes.
Your toddler has already figured this out. They don't need a framework - they just know that 4pm is when their soul leaves their body and everything you say might as well be in Mandarin. You're standing there trying to negotiate pants while they're running on pure cortisol and spite.
Bath time at 6:30? Delightful splash fest. Bath time at 7:15? Someone's getting waterboarded and it might be you. That's not attitude, that's data. You keep scheduling the final boss battle during the witching hour and then acting shocked when everyone loses.
Stop fighting biology. You wouldn't schedule your quarterly review at 5pm on a Friday, so why are you trying to teach sharing when everyone's dead?
